| Jeff Passan @JeffPassan The Colorado Rockies are deep into conversations with Paul DePodesta to take over their baseball-operations department, sources tell ESPN. While a deal is not final, it could be soon. DePodesta is currently chief strategy officer for the Cleveland Browns and a longtime MLB exec. |
Lol. Browns got money balled all right.
Their move from downtown to Brook Park, which is the middle of nowhere next to the airport, isn't endearing the organization to local fans, either. Except for the people of Brook Park. Both of them.

Then their GM screwed them even worse when he restructured Watson's contract twice making it impossible to cut him last offseason and next. If the Browns cut Watson this offseason they take on $50 million dollars in dead money. They have to wait to 2027 when that number is only $6 million.
at the time it happened, Watson was a move a lot of people here were envious of, he just completed crashed and set them way back. added a young pro bowl QB to a team that had gone 19-14 in it's prior 2 years combined with good D and OL/RB should have taken them forward not back.
Depodesta held the type of advisory role that is the type of position Mara should have. And if Stefanski shakes free and this is a sign their entire program is shifting directiosn, Stefanski should be very high on the Giants target list for next coach. He was a very good HC who got more out of less and did a good job hiring (bill callahan, jim schwartz, etc). From the area and son of former nets GM ed stefanski.
