NFT: Alex vs. ARod Docuseries

JoeyBigBlue : 11/7/2025 2:59 pm
Did anyone catch the first episode yesterday? I thought it was very good and showed Alex’s childhood and early part of his career with the Mariners and Rangers. I’m very interested in seeing episodes 2 and 3 that will go over his Yankee years and his post retirement years.

What really struck me is how genuine he seems in the doc. He always seemed like a complete phony, but he seems to have matured a ton. Rodriguez really is one of the most complicated sport figures of my lifetime. He was about as talented as anyone in any sport, but he was also extremely insecure and made terrible decisions that have affected him in his post baseball life.

He called himself a Recovering Narcissist in an interview yesterday and that description definitely fits.

Could say the same for a lot of people. Arod is a baseball player so he's not hurting anyone. He also seems more self aware the last 10 years or so. He appears to have matured or evolved.
