I’m finally going to drop Direct TV and go 100% streaming. For similar pricing Hulu comes with all its own programming and library, Disney+, and ESPN, what makes YouTube an option so many prefer when Hulu seems to offer much more content, what am I missing? Thanks
There are content differences, so you need to drill in and make sure you are getting what you want.
Beats anything streaming has to offer.
YTTV has a pretty good interface and a lot of nice features but it's still basically similar to cable. That is becoming a somewhat dated approach.
I noticed that Amazon Prime now has a Live TV section. I think that Amazon and other providers are going to get into the live-TV business to compete with YTTV. I hope that works to the benefit of consumers. But somehow we always seem to get sort of screwed, don't we?
It will get fixed, it has too. They depend on each other too much
I like the idea of all of Hulu’s original programming plus just the large library of movies and television series. That’s a lot to give up for YouTube just having a better interface. How hard/bad can Hulu’s be to give all that up for close to the same price?

well since there is no contract and all you need to do is download an app, why don't you just try both and see which one you like better?

I probably should, I always hate the hassle of canceling theses types of things though. I’ll probably go with Hulu since it gives you a lot more programming and then see. If I like it keep it or if I hate the interface I’ll try and cancel and then try YouTube.
Thanks, that’s what I keep coming back too, their library makes it seem like a no brainer but I thought maybe I was missing something else

Yeah, I'd probably stick with DirecTV if I were you. Streaming services -- all of them -- kind of suck when it comes down to actually watching television. I don't care for the experience of app-like navigation and searching when I'm just trying to easily and quickly get to a goddam channel. The rewind and fast fowarding suck, particularly when the video just decides not to resume after you've reached the desired point and you have to exit the app, unplug your television, disconnect your router, and trip your circuit breaker to resume.
