Jemison seems like a nice guy but wow he is not good
Very end of the bench. I can't complain too much about that. But I do wish they had a better big off the bench. Hukporti is still developing and the two bigs behind him are not playable except in garbage time.
-As of the conclusion of tonight's blowout win in D.C.--and if my math is right--the Knicks are now 5-3 on the front-end of back-to-backs so far this season.
-We're getting the Nuggets on the back-end of their own back-to-back set of games tomorrow night at the Garden.
-It looks like the Nuggets are about to lose in Detroit tonight in a close one.
-Tomorrow night's marquee matchup will be on ESPN starting at 7 pm ET.
- Nuggets on second night of back to back.
- At Pistons for third game in four nights.
- At Celtics for fourth game in six nights.
- At Sixers on second night of back to back.
And people wonder why there are so many blowouts in this league.

I would be very tempted to treat the Nuggets and Pacers games on the upcoming schedule like glorified exhibition games, and as we saw in December, they can still very likely beat Indy.
These Detroit, Boston and Philly games are big and I want them in the worst way.

Well Denver had a tough game in Detroit last night and Detroit will be on the 2nd leg of a back to back(3rd in 4 days) Friday. Boston has had a busy week this week travelling too. So any advantage is pretty much mitigated. We just have to suck it up and win.

Right on Stu. The ASB is coming up anyway. They'll have 7 days off to heal then (Feb. 12th-18th).

Iām sure Knicks fans will be totally level headed if the team loses a few of these games, especially if itās not close.
the worst team in the league. Interested to see how he does against the Joker tomorrow night.
You won't want to hear this so brace yourself, but the Joker has said on numerous occasions that the guy he hates to play against the most is none other than Towns.
Don't act like Towns only plays well against bad teams.
2nd rounder going from Cleveland to LAC is the only other piece involved.
For the life of me, I cannot figure out what the Cavs are thinking hereā¦
Idk what the Cavs are thinking
They know better than anyone that Garland is a joke. You'd think Knicks fans would know this too as The Knicks have stolen that dude's lunch money time and time again.
this will annoy some Knicks fans (why I don't know)
Of course, James might choose retirement over a 24th year in the league. A quick review of his resume suggests this is a man with no more mountains to climb and no more butts to kick. You wonder what could possibly motivate a billionaire who grew up poor to continue torturing his body so he can achieve at the highest level.
Until you remember something he once said to a current Los Angeles Clippers executive. Lee Jenkins, the teamās vice president of basketball affairs, who was writing for Sports Illustrated 10 summers ago when LeBron told him this:
āMy motivation is this ghost Iām chasing. The ghost played in Chicago.ā
The Cavs make a lot of sense for James, no question. But he already ended a biblical championship drought in Cleveland, and if the ultimate target is still Jordan, then New York makes just a little small snippet of extra sense.
This is about logic. The 2010 Summer of LeBron? That was about emotion, at least on the New York side of the pursuit. The Knicks were pure garbage back then, on and off the floor. Prominent public figures in the big city made their appeal ā Come save us ⦠please! ā but LeBron wasnāt about to gamble his championship aspirations on a James Dolan operation that was consistently losing at least 50 games a year.
That was then.
And this is now.
The Knicks have won at least one playoff series in each of the last three seasons, and they eliminated the defending champion Celtics in Round 2 last year. They coulda, woulda, shoulda beaten the Pacers in Round 3. In other words, they no longer need to be saved. They need simply to be taught how to get from the conference finals to the Finals, and then from the Finals to the trophy presentation.
LeBron James, a 10-time conference champ, can do that in his sleep in the East, which is a virtual walk in Central Park when compared to the loaded West.

Would Bronny have to be part of the deal?
I've got some trade ideas I wanna run by you guys.
I was doodling earlier & have some screenshots from Fanspo I'd like to share with you guys (three hypothetical but realistic trades on the margins). Here are the three trades I came up with:
.
.
.
-Trade J. Clarkson & their 3rd 2026 2nd Rounder via Det to GSW for PG Gary Payton II.
-Both Clarkson (2G) & Gary Payton II (PG) are on expiring minimum salary deals.
-They each count the same against the cap at $2,296,274 in cap dollars.
**This one actually works, but on Fanspo it won't go through because they've got Achiuwa's trade restriction set to expire tomorrow instead of today. They've also got the Kings with less than 14 players, but this is allowed for another 14 days in actuality.**
-Trade Dadiet ($2.85 M), $2M, rights to Rokas Jokubaitis to SAC for Precious Achiuwa.
-NYK & SAC will also swap 2nd round picks.
-NYK exchange their own 2026 2nd RDer for SAC's 2027 unprotected 2nd RDer via CHA.
-Achiuwa ($2.11 M) has an expiring deal; NYK gain $740 K in cap space.
-Trade G. Yabusele, $4 M, to PHX for N. Richards.
-Yabusele is making $5.5 M & Richards is making $5 M. Yabusele has a player option.
-Yabusele will need to decline his player option for next year now to make this deal.
-NYK also sends PHX the draft rights to PF James Nnaji; NYK gain $500 K in cap space.
-------------------------------------------------------
-After these moves, the NYK would have the necessary cap room under the 2nd Apron sign a 15th man as of tomorrow.
-They can do this either via the Buyout Market or by signing one of their three young veteran players on Two-Way contracts or from the G-League to the active main roster (e.g., McCullar Jr., Jemison III, or Jones, or maybe even Dink Pate form the G-League to keep him form going to play college hoops).
-Helpful vets with many years of experience will probably be available on the Veteran Buyout Market in the coming days after tomorrow's trade deadline passes.
NOTE: This isn't taking into account the health status of Deuce. If he's badly hurt, then they should probably just hold onto Clarkson.
I think these moves on the margins would give the team a more-rounded roster and a better chance to compete in the post-season. Here's the 150man's depth-chart after these trades (ignore the traditional categories of positions if you prefer):
PG (3) - Brunson, Kolek, Payton II
SG (3) - Bridges, Deuce, Shamet
SF (3) - OG, Hart, McCullar Jr.
PF (3) - KAT, Precious, Diawara
C (3) - Mitch, Hukporti, Richards
Two-Way (3) - Jemison III, Jones, Pate
I do agree it's very possible the Knicks sit tight
Although Yabusele not playing in that total blowout last night probably indicates he's a goner. Maybe they just dump the salary somewhere for like a 2050 2nd rounder. 2 weeks ago I think they would have been a bit more desperate but like was said, things are really clicking and the roster is deep. I would check in with the Bulls on Ayo or White as a rental and NO on Missi. They may even do a 1 stop shop with NO for Missi & Alvarado.
Optimus I'd say no on Precious, but don't hate the other 2
GP2 isn't bad. Nick Richards is more useful than Yabu.
Supp Stu? One of the reasons for that deal is to get Dadiet's money off the books both in the short-term as well as the long-term. On a roster as tightly managed as this one (*they're approx. $148,358 under the 2nd Apron*), he's holding them back from being able to maneuver cap-wise while they skate around the dreaded 2nd Apron. Precious is a FA after the year, while Dadiet's not.
The added 2nd round pick exchange with old friend Scott Perry is part of the deal too. I figured Perry would take back the rights to a player that was drafted during his tenure in NY in Rokas Jokubaitis + money as a sweetener. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time that the Knicks brought back an old friend (see Alec Burks).

Yeah that money saved at the margins definately helps. As much as I despise the Celtics Brad Stevens needs to be the runaway exec of the year. The guy somehow shaved 300 mill off the roster, got them under the 1st apron and has them tied for 2nd in the conference. That's near miracle work.

GP2 is tight with Mike Brown, so I figured that one could work as a swap plus a lil' sweetener for G.S. (a late 2nd round pick this year) since they're short on them.
