Already done:
Utah sends 3 firsts + Walter Clayton for JJJ. Take-away: is Utah in a position to be trading all that youth? Nope. They do have Kessler, Markaanan, Filipowski etc. so surely it means there is more to come. For Memphis sake, its more assets in volume to add to the Bane haul. Next up...jettison Ja.
Boston trades Simons for Vucevic. Take-away: Boston sheds $20mm and gets a rebounding/shooting BIG. Smart. I guess CHI will be trading Coby White and/or Ayo Dosunmo (the latter is such a good and underrated player).
Detroit trades Jaden Ivey for Kevin Huerter. Take-away: along the margins, but solid pickup for Detroit.
Clipjoint trades Harden for Garland. Take-away: I find it hard to understand how NBA GMs continue to see guys like Brad Beal, Ben Simmons, D'Angelo Russell etc. and not understand that they are severe net minuses to rosters. And Harden is the captain of the "subtraction by addition" team. Not only is he inefficient as a scorer, but that's the least of his warts. And the Clips steal Garland who was a poor fit next to Mitchell. But this is a 26 year old laser beam PG who...long term, will be the best player traded at this trade deadline.
Will be interesting to see what happens in the next 30 hours.
I am fearing the worst. 4 games out already with tests on the way for an unknown injury? Not great.

Brunson
Deuce
Shamet
Bridges
Kolek
Clarkson
6 guys that they've been playing this year, 5 of whom are under 6'6. Does giving up assets for Ayo or White move the needle that much?
You can certainly make the argument that Clarkson is unplayable and Deuce could be out for a while, but in a playoff rotation you still have Brunson and Kolek who basically can only play the 1 other than the few minutes they're on the court together, Shamet who can only play the 2 and has been deserving of 20-25 MPG and Bridges who will be playing 35+ MPG at the 2/3.
Center is a bigger concern with Mitch's injury status, but are guys like Yves Missi and Nick Richards even that much better than Hukporti, who I thought totally dominated former no. 2 overall pick Marvin Bagley last night and even hit a 3?
What I hope happens at this point is the Knicks are actually able to trade Yabu to a team like the Sixers who are trying to get under the luxury tax and able to get an asset in return and then Yabu gets bought out and goes to play in Israel or Greece or whatever as has been rumored.
Go check Harden's win/loss record for his career. Too lazy?
Harden has a 768-427 win-loss record over his NBA career.
Crazy talk.
Clev is much better now and if Harden has 2 years left in him no one will give a flying fart about Garland. Garland is laughably replaceable.
Again, I have no idea the love for any of the Heat players as a centerpiece of any trade for Giannis.
I'm so tired of the media hyping up players on the Warriors and Heat. Neither team has a prospect Diawara. Tyler Herro is an injury prone combo guard that plays zero defense and is extension eligible.
There is really no reason for the Bucks to do it now. I can't think of a single one.

I think CP from KFTV reported something about this online yesterday.

We had better hold onto Clarkson in that case!
Both Ayo and White are UFA's after this season. With all the guards the Bulls have, they'd be insane not to trade at least one (if not both) of them when they risk losing them for nothing. Especially since they're not competing for anything this year. They're where they always are, fighting for one of the last play-in spots.
Caveat though, they are the Chicago Bulls and often make nonsensical decisions.

Imo Giannis, Bam, and Ja would be a terrible fit as a trio. 3 non-shooters in the starting lineup and in crunch time is a spacing disaster in today's NBA.

That Miami is working on getting Giannis and Ja without giving up Bam or Powell.

Forget about the fit on the court, how can that work cap wise? The 3 of them combine for 150 mill next year and Powell is a UFA. This Ain't 2010. You're not going anywhere with 3 guys and a bunch of bargain basement role players even if they were a good fit on the court.
Lol the funniest is how ware is a centerpiece yet the best coach in the NBA doesnt play him..
We've heard the same 2-3 names for months now with caveats that the Knicks likely don't have enough to pull them off. We're about 25 hours away from the deadline and we've heard absolutely nothing new.

BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks are trading 10-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis, Jaden Hardy, D'Angelo Russell and Dante Exum to the Washington Wizards for Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, 2 first-round picks and 3 second-rounders, sources tell ESPN.

The Deuce injury can potentially change things slightly, and maybe they can move off Yabusele, but generally speaking I agree and think sitting tight is the best approach.
They are not the favorites per se, but they are one of 4 teams I can see winning a title this year along with OKC, SAS and I suppose I have to include Detroit (even though I'm less confident in them than I am the other 3).
Make a run with this group and let the Giannis stuff play out. If it's meant to be it can happen in the summer.

Are the Wiz going to trade for any stars who will actually play this season and help the Knicks steal a lottery pick?
What pisses me off is that they're gonna sit Trae and AD for most of the rest of the year just so they don't have to give us their FRP. Complete BS

The January slide looks more and more like a blip with each game. The rotation right now is pretty good. It could definitely use an upgrade or two to put us over the top but I don't think we have the assets it'd take to do so (I'm assuming Deuce and Mitch are off limits).

Hard to say whether or not sitting tight is the right move without knowing what's available to them. I'm just guessing it's not much.
SGA is hurt and will be out a while.
Somehow what looked like the biggest ripoff in NBA history looks even worse

Anyone invovled with that trade from the Mavs end should be banned from ever working in the league again.

Just in: The Chicago Bulls are trading Coby White and Mike Conley Jr. to the Charlotte Hornets for Collin Sexton, Ousmane Dieng and three second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.

The Bulls are going to trot out four guard lineups all game?
Hornets are getting pretty, pretty good.

Yeah 7 in a row and 11th place, barely out of the play-in. I respect that they are going for it.

You have to wonder, are the Hornets going to pay Coby White? I mean they don't do this trade without knowing what he wants in terms of a contract extension.

He did play for UNC.

I still don't see what they have to offer unless they packaged Wiggins, Ware and Herro to get a blue chip young player to go with their picks.

Nope. They're only $148,358 under the 2nd Apron. If things stay as they are now--which is highly unlikely--then they won't be able to sign a 15th man until April 2nd (11 days left in the regular season ending on April 12th).
You and my brother in law think similarly. Haha.
I think every other text I get from him is him just spewing venom at the Reinsdorfs.
Apparently the AD trade came together because Washington was calling teams trying trying to trade expirings + draft compensation for a big man. They initially were asking about Gafford which evolved into discussing AD. All that is to say, it's more likely the Wizards called the Knicks and were turned down than vice versa
Not a chance. The AD package was really bad given the pick protections. It would've set the Knicks back years if that's all they got for KAT
